New Patients
Therapy is a highly collaborative process where both the therapist and client work together to address challenges, resolve life issues, and achieve personal growth. Each therapeutic journey is unique, and the duration of treatment varies depending on the nature of the issues, the individual’s needs, and how well the client responds to therapeutic interventions. Typically, sessions last between 45 minutes to one hour, allowing ample time to explore concerns in a supportive and focused environment. For established clients, I offer phone sessions and shorter, “mini-sessions,” for those needing quick check-ins or guidance.
Fees & Insurance
My fees are structured to reflect the level of expertise, training, and experience I bring to my practice. I strive to provide high-quality care at reasonable and competitive rates. Payment is due at each session, ensuring a smooth and transparent process. I participate in a limited number of insurance networks, including BC/BS PPO (New Directions), Aetna, and Humana (Life Synch). However, I encourage new clients to verify their coverage in advance by obtaining authorization and reviewing their plan’s deductible, copayment, and other financial obligations. This ensures that the focus remains on your care rather than administrative concerns related to insurance.
Telephone and Emergency Contact
For established clients, I offer telephone consultations for issues that arise between sessions. Phone calls exceeding five minutes in length will incur a fee based on the time spent. In cases of urgent matters or critical situations, a secondary phone number is provided via my answering machine for direct, time-sensitive contact. However, if you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please contact 911 or go directly to your nearest emergency room for immediate assistance.
Medication
While I do not prescribe medication, I am happy to coordinate with your primary care physician, pediatrician, or psychiatrist to ensure that any prescribed medication aligns with your therapeutic goals. If medication is deemed appropriate for your treatment plan, I will work closely with your medical provider to support a holistic and integrated approach to your care.
Forms
To streamline your first visit and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, the following forms are available for new patients:
- Confidential Patient Information and Consent for Treatment
- This form collects essential background information and outlines your consent to participate in therapy, ensuring that you understand the treatment process and your rights as a patient.
- Outpatient Services Contract and HIPAA Notice
- This document explains the terms of the therapeutic relationship, including session fees, confidentiality policies, and your privacy rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
I look forward to working with you as we embark on a path toward healing and personal growth. Together, we can create positive, lasting change in your life.
