New Patients

Therapy is a collaborative process in which the therapist and client work together to solve problems and life issues. The length of time needed to obtain the best results is dependent on the problems at hand, individual needs, and the client's response to prescribed interventions. A typical session can range from 45 minutes to one hour and fees are adjusted to the length of the session. Phone sessions and mini sessions are available to well established clients.

Fees & Insurance

Dr. Duffin's fees are reasonable and competitive given her training, experience, and standing in the psychological community. Payment is due at each session. She is on a limited amount of insurance panels which include BC/BS PPO (New Directions), Aetna, and Humana (Life Synch). Dr. Duffin's time is devoted to the client, not on billing and eligibility problems with the insurance companies. This means that new clients must obtain their authorization and any eligibility and benefit information so that they understand their deductible, copayment, and any other financial responsibility for their sessions.

Telephone and Emergency Contact

Phone calls more than five minutes in length will be charged. For time sensitive or critical calls a secondary phone number is provided on Dr. Duffin's answering machine. If you have a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or proceed to your local emergency room.

Only a licensed medical doctor can prescribe medication. This could be your pediatrician, family doctor, or psychiatrist. Dr. Duffin will be happy to coordinate care with your physician if medication is appropriate for you, but she does not prescribe medication.
